How to Ask for a Review After a Gig

A short, personal ask the day after the event works best.

Reviews you collect can go straight onto your website.

The short answer

Ask within a day or two of the gig, in a short personal message that thanks the client, mentions a moment from their event, and gives one direct link to leave a review. If they haven't left one after a few days, send one friendly reminder. That's it.

More in how to get more reviews for your band.

An example message

"Hi Sarah and James, thank you for having us play your wedding! Watching your guests sing along to the recessional was a highlight of our year. If you have two minutes, would you leave us a quick review? It helps other couples find us: [link]. Congratulations again!"

A gentle reminder

"Hi Sarah, hope the honeymoon was amazing! Just a quick reminder about the review link in case it got buried: [link]. Thank you!"

Where to send them

Pick one place per client, usually where your future clients look: Google, a wedding site, or your own review page. Giving several options at once lowers the chance they leave any.
